COMMISSIONED WORKS: Concerto for Four Soloist (2011) Tabla master Zakir Hussain commissioned me to orchestrate his new concerto for four soloists. The 35 minute work was performed at the Kennedy Center by the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C. on March 3-5, 2011, under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach. The four soloists were Zakir Hussain, tabla, Shankar Mahadevan, vocals, Hariharan, vocals, and Kelley O'Conor, mezzo-soprano.
